3 Products - ISO The end is in sight

Welcome to May lovelies how are we all holding up now the end of ISO is in sight? The last few weeks have been very strange especially for people in my industry and others like it. Unable to work we’ve found new ways to connect with you and I have to say I’ve loved it! I held a live workshop on my Facebook page and completed a bunch of looks that I wouldn’t ordinarily do, just for something fun and different. The creativity juices have been flowing and as always I’ve been road testing some awesome beauty buys to bring you this blog. This month features an eye cream and a couple of Mecca Max products that won’t break the bank but deliver bang for your buck. This is the part where I remind you that I am not sponsored just love the offering, and I hope you do too!

Goldfaden MD Bright Eyes Eye Cream

I’m now in my 40’s and for the last 18 months or so I’ve been trying to be a little better with my skin care. I still get really excited about trying every new thing on the market but I do have a few favourites now. One thing that I’m having difficulty narrowing down is a great eye cream. I am lucky in that I don’t really suffer from puffiness around my eye area but I do get very dark underneath, it’s a mommas trademark right, and I have some crows feet starting to form as well. I’m also pretty dry under my eye area as with the rest of my skin. So, my key things when shopping for an eye cream to try are, nourishing, dark circle targeting and fine lines diminishing. A while ago I had tried a sample of the Goldfaden MD Bright Eyes Cream and I really loved how nourishing it is, so I decided to commit to the full bottle. I haven’t been disappointed. I use it morning and night and it has lasted a long time. As promised, it has brightened my under eye area and has nourished the fine lines under my eyes and the crows feet on the sides, visibly reducing their appearance. I love the texture of this cream, it just feels luxurious when you put it on, the way I think an eye cream should feel. However, the only thing I’m not 100% sold on is how it sits under makeup. Don’t get me wrong it’s not completely un-doable (is that a word?) but I probably wouldn’t recommend it if you are someone who wears a heavy concealer under your eyes or is wanting your makeup to go a full 12 hours. My thoughts on that are - if you can still wear a heavy concealer in your under eye area or go out for 12 hours straight, you probably aren’t in need of an eye cream just yet anyway.

Mecca Max Zoom Shadow Stick

So first up, this product from the Mecca Max umbrella is not brand new but they have added 6 new colours to the collection and hence are pumping up its tyres on the regular. I initially wanted to give them a go because I love a cream product, scrap that, a GOOD cream product and at $18 the price point meant I could have more than one. But are they any good? These Zoom Shadow Sticks are creamy, come in an array of colours and holy heck are they long wearing. I thought I’d give one a quick whirl before school pick up one day and then just wipe it off with some micellar water, (the good Mecca Cosmetica Rosewater one), but boy was I mistaken! This baby was going nowhere fast so it’s the perfect shadow stick for the dance party all-nighter you intend to have when ISO is finally over. The soft creamy consistency is highly pigmented yet super flattering so can be worn by anyone. It is smudge proof, waterproof, kid proof, pretty sure it’s sleep proof! It is the perfect shadow base to extend the life of your powder shadow or they make a wonderful graphic statement on their own. If you work quickly the colour can be diffused for a soft and sheer eye look too. I’m so impressed I’m going to do a couple of quick tutorials on them demonstrating how they can be used. I got the shades Rust and Mauve but I will be going back for the Olive and Teal. They come in 14 glorious shades so collect them all now, you’d be a fool not to.

Mecca Max Liquid Light

I’m having a bit of a Mecca month you might say. But really, I mean, I’m always having a Mecca month as the majority of the products I gush to you all about are available for purchase at Mecca. We don’t have Sephora in Perth and I like to touch my products before I buy them. Unfortunately due to Corona we’ve had to put a bit of a hold on that… but I digress. I’m going with 2 of the Mecca Max products I love this month because a) they are terrific products and b) they are affordable, and I feel like everybody at the moment needs affordable treats in their lives. So, the Liquid Light drops. I love these I have 4 of the 5 shades in my kit and I keep 2 of them in my private stash as well. They are a beautiful thick consistency that add seamlessly to your foundation for that lit from within glow. As we age gracefully a matte foundation is not as flattering as it once was but if you add a small amount of liquid light to your foundation it really lifts your base and adds a lovely sheen to the skin. They are also beautiful on their own, added to the high points of the face. The image used to promote the blog this month features the liquid light in Quartz. That’s how much I love this product, I’ve used my own face! I like to use a small Dirty Thirties sponge to apply it but go slowly as a lot goes a long way. Your fingers will do just as good a job. I love a good glow up and this is exactly what the Liquid Light gives you. At $25 a bottle, it’s the cheapest facial you’ll ever have.

Thanks for joining me for another month of beauty buys. I’ve been having a great time the last few weeks playing with some new products as well as some that I’ve come to appreciate again. BUT it really is time to head back to work, so send me good vibes that by mid June I’ll be painting all your beautiful faces again and I won’t have to keep posting pictures of mine!
